"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." (Calvin Coolidge)

You never truly pay attention to the News
until it affects you personally
I'm still shocked that Perry passed away
its like....
...i see him once in a long while
stopping along the streets just having a casual conversation
and now hes gone
...training at the sch gym together for a few times
and now hes gone
...we used to call him ad yap, the kings of the sport complex. seeing them both always there. Him in the pool, Yap in the gym
... he was the first familliar face i saw in tekong when i enlisted
I din know him as well i would have liked to
but whenever i saw him
there was always a cheerful smile on his face

As a medic, i put myself in the position
what could i have done if i was there
could i have done anything better
would it have changed the outcome of the situation?

then i put myself in the medic's shoes
how he is feeling now...
imagine having someone die under ur care

i wun ever try to say that i know how his family , Sam , Yap and the rest of his close friends feel
because i dun
and i never will
i can only offer my deepest sympathy at the loss of a really Great Guy

"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." (Calvin Coolidge)

Finally back in Singapore after 2 weeks in Thailand
never knew i could miss home that much
maybe its only because its the army

Thailand was ok
the 7 days outfield was actually quite fun
but only because i'm a perm staff
which means i can basically do rubbish and not get screwed
like taking an hr a day to suntan on the roof
hahaha
NINJA Vans are the best business ideas ever
it gives mi the option of not taking the rations
which tasted like crap
*proof: cadets were willing to take combat rations over fresh rations*
Bamboo Rice Rocks
Cha Mee too

Highlight of the trip: FOOD

i swear i just ate the 16 days away
calamari
tofu
fried chicken
fried rice
cha mee
phad thai
mango freeze
watermelon freeze
coconuts
the options are endless
ate this road side "yakitori" thing
like 20c a stick
damn good lah
i should bring the lady here to sell it

but the pple thre are really pitiful lah
esp those in the rural area
can u imagine
running up a "hill"(only because i dun think its 300m tall) in the middle of a thunderstorm
just to pick up fragments of spent artillery rounds to sell
to make some money
hanging around the deployment grounds in order to get the left over combat rations

was watching the news there
abt a report abt development i bangkok being given the majority of the budget for upgrade
when the developments in the rural areas in the other provinces are really the ones in need of upgrading

every night as i lay outfield looking up at the stars
listening to the "soothing" music of corrine may and james blunt
only 1 person came to mind
i still miss her
if i had 1 place to go to right now
it would only be queensland
